SUMMARY:solaris 8 print server

Hi again,

Got it working. Here's the deal: /etc/inetd.conf has printer using tcp6 by
default, which is interesting considering I did not enable IPv6 when I installed
the systems. Anyway, I changed tcp6 to plain old tcp, rebooted and everything
works like a champ. The odd thing about this is, I setup another host as a
print server just to replicate the problem/solution and it worked without a
hitch before I changed the tcp6 line. So I'm thinking tcp6 is a red herring and
all I needed to do was reboot and the problem goes to Microsoft land and all is
well with the world right? Wrong. I set the original server back to using tcp6
and it DOES NOT WORK! Oh well. my printer line in /etc/inetd.conf now says tcp
and the silly thing prints like a champ.
