[SUMMARY] Installing more drives

A number of people answered, and you know who you are.

Suggestions were:

Is the drive really inserted? (yes, I couldn't insert it any further
without a hammer)

Does your system have a backplane that would support more drives??
(yes, It is configured to support 20 drives)

Do a probe-scsi-all.
(well I did it, but I am not that good at reading sun hyroglyphics, so it
was a useless step.)

try drvconfig ; devlinks ; disks
(did it, no results).

And one person said that it should have worked.

So, after re-inserting the drives, peering into the cabinet with a
flashlight, rebooting the system a number of times, I made use of the
service contract, and called sun. After a few minutes on the phone with
them discussing part numbers and procedures, they are dispatching a
hardware person with spare backplane, cables, drives, etc. The only thing
left to do is schedule some downtime for this production system.

Thanks to all that responded,
