[SUMMARY] Solaris 8 stable enough?

Thanks to all those who responded regarding my general query about stability
of Solaris 8.

It seems from the answers that anybody who runs Solaris 8 is pretty happy,
and it seems to be better than 7, though I saw no responses asserting
"mission-critical" sites running on Solaris 8. The only concern is ISV
product availability, since some of the vendors do not support Solairs 8
yet. Installation is a little bit different from Solaris 7 and before.

Al Hopper wrote to me that it's the best Solaris yet. While I'm glad to
hear that, personally I still think Solaris 1.x (SunOS 4.1) is still the
best Solaris I have ever experienced... A matter of taste -- simplicity and
elegance... :-)

Thanks again.
