Restricting su to root; summary

Esteemed gurus;

Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry on restricting who can su to root.
By and large, the advice was to change the ownership and permissions on the
su command to be owned by a group of individuals entrusted with the root
password.

A couple of respondants suggested employing sudo; I believe that this is the
route I will take.

Thanks again for all responses; as usual good advice free for the asking....
