My original question:
---------------------
After upgrading from Sparc Solaris 7 to Solaris 8, I got the boot
messages below.
What does it mean and can it have impact on something else?
"/etc/init.d/netbios not started".
"Not supported OS".
Probably reason and solution:
-----------------------------
Solaris 7 EAS 3.0 included the new Solaris PC Netlink 1.1 which is'n
longer! supported in Solaris 8. Uninstall of PC Netlink should help.
Thanks to you three who answered:

"netbios is an NT protocol used for file sharing. Are you using Samba
on this server."
Tim Evans <Tim_Evans@troweprice.com>
"It would appear that you previously had something on your system that
used
netbios. Track that down and you'll have your explanation. As a wild
guess, you may have had, at some time in the past, a PC-type server
application running, netbios being a PC-type server thingie."
Zulkarnain Dahalan - CSSG <dzulk@csam.com.my>
"It seems to me your netbios ( so-called by your server as 3rd. party
software ) doest support Solaris 8 OS platform. Maybe by getting update
version would solve it."
