Not really a solution yet, but workaround.
Everyone suggested to use a solaris player like these:

Hi list,
Maybe an off topic question...
I'm running Solaris 8 on an Ultra 5 workstation, 400 MHz, 256 MB.
and a SunPCI card with WinNT SP6a, 400 MHz, 128 MB.
Is it possible to run audio CD's trough the SunPCI card?
When I run a cd player on NT it correctly detects the CD tracks but there
is no sound output.
By the way, I get this message on the solaris console when skipping tracks:
/dev/audio: Invalid argument
Normally on a PC you have to directly connect the CD-ROM to the sound card
with a cable. I've seen an option under Win98 to enable Digital Audio for
the
CD drivers and then you don't need that cable.
Has someone had to deal with this ?
