PROBLEM : see below
Thanks for all who responded to my question. Many people responded
like it is
not possible to bulid a bootable floppy for SUN m/c.
But I found the following procedure in one of the SUN manuals for
Solaris 2.0 or 2.1 OS.
1) format the diskette.
hostname# fdformat
2) Create the diskette's file systems.
hostname# /usr/sbin/newfs /dev/rdiskette
3) Mount the diskette.
hostname# mount /dev/diskette /mnt
4) Copy the second level disk booter to the disk
hostname# cp /ufsboot /mnt
5) install a boot block on the floppy
hostname# /usr/bin/installboot /usr/lib/fs/bootblk
/dev/rdiskette
6) Copy the file you want to boot to /mnt
7) Unmount the diskette and remove it from the drive.
hostname# umount /mnt
hostname# eject floppy
I would like to know what is the procedure for Solaris 2.6 and
above. I tried doing
the above procedure for Solaris 2.6. I did not work for me.
Any suggestions?.

I would like to boot my SUN m/c using a bootable floppy disk.
What is the procedure to build a bootable floppy disk for my
solaris
2.6 m/c.
