Got a few quick replies on this one.
They were correct also,
The answer was to use the
"Operating Environment Installation CD September 1999"
CD that came with my 2.7 distribution.
Could not find it with my 2.6 dist. but that does not seem to matter as it
is doing the job.
thanks to John Weekley and Leonid Massarsky for their quick and correct
replies.

Here is the original post:
Hi,
I am trying to install 2.6(5/98) on a 420 box and am getting this error
after typing "boot cdrom" at the ok prompt
boot: cannot find kernel/unix.
I have gotten this error before and it meant that I needed to use a more
recent build of 2.6 to boot from. AFAIK, 5/98 is one of the more recent
builds and that should not be a factor.
Does a 420 not support 2.6?
Any other ideas?
thanks,
Rich
