In the /etc/nsswitch.conf file, make the hosts line like this:
hosts: dns nis files
All should be well then. Sendmail is NIS intelligent (not really, but
it thinks so)
but when it uses NIS, it screws up the name (mailhost.domain.company.com
has the mail
sent as if from mailhost.company.com).
