I have fixed the problem after talking to Vendor support and thier Field
Engineers the word is,
400Mhz/8MB Cache CPU Modules can be put on the same board with 400Mhz/4MB
modules as long as the OBP version of the systems is 3.2.21 or higher. THIS
CONFIG IS SUPPORTED BUT NOT RECOMMENDED.
I was able to get the CPU to be seen after using a 6lb torque to install
this, CPU modules are very picky indeed.
NOTE: a boot -r is not neccessary when a CPU is added as it is allocated to
the system during post.
I would like to thank Neill Mark, Buddy Lumpkin, Scott Howard and
Aaaron for the replies and a lot of people for their vacation messages. It
was Buddy Lumpkin who so to speak hit the nail on the head.
thanks a lot
kumar

Subject: CPU Module Ultra Sparc II
Hello Gurus,
I am trying to add a Ultra Sparc II 400Mhz/8mb CPU module to a e4500 system
which has 3 Ultra Sparc II 400mhz/4mb Cpu's, the new CPU is failing to get
recognised. I have reseated the CPU module a few times and each time the
pre-post indicates that this module is not OK
i am sending the outputs of prtdiag and uname -a
