Found the answer to this problem myself next morning.
The system had two hard disks installed. 8G as a boot
disk and 18G secondary disk. After removing the the
18G disk from the scsi chain the install went ok.
Original question follows:
Solaris 8 (x86) install dies after these lines:
...
Copying mini-root to local disk....done.
Copying platform specific files....done.
Preparing to reboot and continue installation.
Unable to mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0p0:boot
Solaris Web Start 3.0 installer
#
...
and it drops to shell. After manually syncing and rebooting
the machine tries to boot the default active partition, but
dies with:
Cannot find boot.bin.
Any idea what might cause this behaviour?
