HERE IS MY QUESTION:
Is there anyway I could find out what it writing to my /var/tmp/wtmpx and
/var/tmp/wtmp.
These two files are growing very fast and I have to manually be zeroing it
out
with "cat /dev/null > wmtpx". This is happening just in one of my server.
I do a "ps -elf | grep wtmp" and don't get anything. The /var/adm/messages
file do not
show anything.
Thanks for your help.
Vinnie.
HERE IS THE ANSWER FROM Dik Casper [Casper.Dik@holland.sun.com]
He was defenetly right.
By typing the following command: "who -a /var/adm/wtmp" I was able to see
that there were Tons of ftp connection going into my server which I was
not just seeing by doing a regular "who" command.
Thanks a lot to all the others who try their best at figuring out this one.
