summary: execution of code on the stack...

Well I guess i posted this question in reverse order because from what I understand the two commands:
set noexec_user_stack=1
and set noexec_user_stack_log=1
within the /etc/system file....
are used to stop hackers from executing code on the stack...what I needed to know is how these attacks are actually accomplished...
