Hi,
I got the right answer (from Casper.Dik@holland.sun.com) within two hours
after my mail (original question below).

A quick search on sunsolve showed, that this patch is not publicly available.
But fortunately we were under contract and I found the patch on out
Sunsolve CD.
I tested it on one machine (cavallo) so far and even witout -e the
disks was recognized fine, and I could write a label without problems.
A mkfs'ed a big filesystem and now everything seems running fine.
Thanks Casper!
Andreas
BTW Beside Casper's answer I received 7 "Out of Office AutoReply" and one
message that XXXX is not working for MasterCard anymore.
I remember the good old times, when people using vacancy programs bothered
about (non-)replies to mailing lists. I feel these times have gone ......

Original message:
I have an RAID array with one of those Zero-D controllers
(SCSI, disks are cheap IDE).
It is recognized with a probe-scsi:
ok probe-scsi

Unit 0 Disk Zero-D 460
I boot -r and get the following on two different machines:
On the first machine (pal) format dumps core:
# uname -a
SunOS pal 5.6 Generic_105181-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraSPARC-IIi-Engine
# format

On the ssecond machine format starts but fails to autoconfigure:
# uname -a

Must reformat device to 512-byte blocksize. Continue? y
Auto configure failed
So nothing can be done with the array in both cases.
Any ideas or reports of successful use of such a beast?
TIA
Andreas
