It turns out the Solaris kernel variable noexec_user_stack disallows executing
code written in the user stack. Writing code in the user stack is how gdb
executes calls. The variable had been added by one of our Sys Admins
for security purposes.
Original Question:
We installed patch 106541-08 on one of our 6500 and now gdb 4.17 gets a
segmentation fault. Has anyone else ran into this problem.
