I didn't get an answer for this one, for all of you who suggested 'boot
cdrom' - I suggest you check what device path cdrom is aliased to. After
trial and error, I found that the required path is:
/pci@1f,0/pci@1/ide@4/disk@1,0:f
the Addonics PCI/IDE controller card apparently doesn't support using
cdrom@ in the device path. The bad news is the addonics card requires
special drivers in the kernel, not found in the Solaris 7 install
kernel.
