Looks like I'm stuck with having users to login in lower case (& then turn
CAP LOCK on for the application they use).
Many commented on the problem but no one gave me the solution to it.

How can I ignore the caps during the login? I need users to login in
uppercase (or lowercase) and be treated like lowercase.
I'm migrating from DG/UNIX to Solaris 7. In my DG box, you can login in
uppercase & put your passwd in uppercase. Then you get everything in
uppercase (emulating Uppercase terminals only) with the back slash. Here's
a sample:
Notice that the password prompt already assumes you have an uppercase
terminal only. Then via stty I restore the settings. When I typed pwd, it
showed in lower case.

This time it did not understand the password, it clearly shows that it
treats it as another user "ROOT".
