my original question was a quest for a script to apply all
required Y2K patches to SunOS (4.1.4) systems.
i received many helpful responses, most of which said that no
such thing existed.
however, several people, notably Daniel Polombo, Chris O'Neal
and one kind lady whose e-mail (and consequently her name) i
seem to have misplaced, sent me copies of their own scripts
designed to perform the requisite function.
these scripts appear to "do the job" but are all out-of-date
(and were acknowledged to be so by the contributors).
based on these contributions, i have produced an updated script
that applies all of the current SunOS 4.1.4 Y2K patches.
once i've completed testing the script, estimated to be 10jan,
i'll be happy to send it to anyone that has a use for it. if
you do, send me an e-mail and i'll put you on the list.
