The problem actually that we have was caused by one of the apache module
"php3", which when httpd looses connection from the forked process was
casuing in a hell lot of "defunct" process. We stopped the httpd and
re-started it which solve the problem temprorarily, but still looking into
the problem to get it solved.
There are also different options, depending on the nature of cause.
The problem could occur if all the "ttys" have been occupied and you dont
have left to spawn any new process or the system process limit has been
reached.
this could be rectified by inceasing the proc_size in /etc/system file
set pt_cnt = 1000 or what ever number you wanna put.
then do a "boot -r" to make the effect.
Also the situation can arise if the swap gets full, which can be verified by
looking at "swap -s" or "swap -l" command.
