My orig question was:

> Duplex SBus card. I don't want to have the onboard 10 MBit/s Interface
> to be the default, it should be the FE card. Also I want to do a net boot

> Do I have to change same kernel or EEPROM settings to enable this.
> Can anybody of you give me some recommendations?
First part of the question: Make another net boot device:
1. Go to the OBP by pressing Stop-A
2. watch-net-all shows you th complete NIC path(s)
3. define an alias: nvalias net-100 /complete/device/path (or another abbr.)
4. make the alias permanent if required (nvramrc)
5. define the new alias as the default boot device.
6. reboot by 'boot net-100'
Second part: Make another default ethernet device (hme0 instead of le0).
1. Move /etc/hostname.le0 to /etc/hostname.hme0, and check /etc/nodename
2. If you want to use the le interface as a 2nd network card for routing
purposes or so, configure it by using ifconfig and make the changes in
/etc/hosts, /etc/hostname.le0, and /etc/nodename
Thanks again to all responders,
Guenter
