Thanks to all the tips I got . Especially to<rasana_atreya@hotmail.com>, <Bertrand_Hutin@notes.amdahl.co, Prashant Ranade <prashant@omsi.com>, <Jeff.Suchomel@Central.Sun.COM>, "Erin Jones" <erin@younetwork.com>, Chad Price <cprice@molbio.unmc.edu, David Foster <foster@dim.ucsd.edu>, "Marco Greene" <mgreene@sympatico.ca>,
My original Question was: >Hi gurus,
>My users are not being able to ftp from and to one of my SunOS 4.1 systems.
>As I root I can ftp to it but all the other users can not eversince we
>upgraded it for Y2K.
>Any tips would be great.
>Thanks.

I looked for the /etc/ftpusers and /etc/shells file. Both didn't exist. So first I created ftpusers file but it didnt work then i created /etc/shells file and included the shell most users were using then it worked like a charm.
Prabhat.
