Roger's suggestion:
I recently had a very similar problem. I was able to recover from by
creating a new rootdg, using the vxdg command, and then using vxdiskadm to
add the disk to the new rootdg.
All I had to do was; vxdg -n rootdg (This created a rootdg disk
group) Then I ran, vxdiskadm, and added(and initialized) the disk
to rootdg. After this I stopped and restarted vxconfigd. From there
I was able to launch vxva and create volumes in rootdg, and it
automatically picked up the raid volume group. Hope this helps.
Luke's suggestion:
You should be able to just reinitialize the disk into rootdg, like
you were first installing the first disk. Then, once it is in rootdg, you
just import all of your other disk groups.
