Hello Managers,
i got only one reply to my problem. And it seems that it is the only
practical solution, which is more flexlible as others.
The way as it is described in Legato documentation doesn't work, because
"hpflip" doesn't support HP C1113J drives (important is "J"). With a
hexedit is it possible to "support" "J" drives with hpflip. After this
all drives are seen from OS. Another problem is now to support
1024bytes/sector from Solaris.

I use HP's 2.6GB MOD drive on Sun Ultra-10 Sol 2.6, with drivers from

Original Message:
Hello Managers,
we are trying to connect a HP 660ex (Optical Library with 6 HP C1113J
drives and 1024byes/sec
MOD-disks) to a Sun E450. The combination should be used as Legato
Networker Server with a HSM Modul.
At OBP level a devices and library control device are seen, but at
SunOS 5.6 we can't see the devices.
We found that there is a special device driver from Legato (op 1.0 -
only for 2.4 and 2.5 NOT 2.6 and
upper) but we found NO information for Solaris 2.6.
Can you help?
Thank you
Franz Heinrich
