SUMMARY: NCR810 as third SCSI controller on Ultra-AXI based machine ?

Hello again,

In a nutshell: It doesn't work because the GLM driver is designed for a
SymBios Logic 53c875 chip, even though the NCR810 is a subset of the
Symbios controller chip.

Some people pointed out that I should go for a wide->narrow SCSI adapter
on the second SCSI bus. However, this is something I want to avoid because
I already have an external wide disk on the second bus and I prefer to
have a separate narrow SCSI bus for peripherals like CD-ROMs, CD-Writers
and DAT Streamer and the like. They can be easily moved around in the
running system when there's no disk on the bus.

In any case: I'll try to find a cheap SymBios controller here with a
53c875 chip and hope that it'll work.

Thanks to all people who replied.

Tom
