SUMMARY: Increasing number of blocks in partition

Original Question: There are two partitions on a disk, with a thousand or
so free blocks in between them. What's the best way to increase the size
of the existing partitions by adding the free blocks?

Solution:
The only readily available solution is to do a brute-force disk
backup and repartitioning. Almost everyone who responded to the question
suggested booting off of the CD-ROM since one of the partitions to be
expanded was /usr, backing up the data in the existing partitions, then
re-partition the disk and restore the data.
Some people suggested 3rd party and optional Sun software that
might have the capability to expand partitions without requiring a backup
and restore of the drive, but unfortunately I didn't have the monetary
resources to explore those options.

Many thanks to all who helped!!
