SUMMARY : /etc/nscd.conf date

dear Managers,

Surprisingly, as mentioned by most of the reply I got,
those files ( /etc/nscd.conf, /etc/inittab and
/etc/motd ) are distributed that way and will have
no harm to system and not related to the rollover to 990909.
I checked my distribution CD, it's true.
Brooke King mentioned that this is true on Solaris 7 too.
I think this should be fixed by Sun.

Thanks to below managers for their reply.

Thomas Wardman, Rodney C. Marable, David Mitchell, Sandeep Patni,
Casper Dik, terry.haupt, MArk Huehls, James Musso, Brion Leary,
Brooke King, vogelke, gabriel rosenkoett and Michael J. Connoll.

tq,

-------------- original question -----------------------

dear managers,
forgive me if this question has been raised before but
I didn't found it in faq.
Today when just checking on any effect of the rollover to
09/09/99 I found this file's date to be Jan 1 70 (unix time start
I guess).
% ls -l /etc/nscd.conf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root sys 773 Jan 1 1970 /etc/nscd.conf
%

both of my solaris 2.6 and 2.5.1 shows the same.
any suggestion why ?

tq,
-fared-
