To all,
        Well I received a few answers and since this was a fact finding mission
I'll list the responses that I got. Thanks to all that replied.

My original question was:
>I would like to know if anyone has successfully installed any writeable
>cdroms that run on both Solaris and NT/Windows? Please let me know of
>the make and model of the types you have. We are trying to determine
>which models will do what we want. Thanks in advance.

The answers were:
 Matthew J. Rock. Any SCSI CD-R should do the trick.

I have a Yamaha CDR400Atx (which they no longer make),
but it works great on both my Ultra10 and my Windows PC.
Just make sure the software you are using supports
the recorder.

On Solaris I use HyCD and on the PC I use the Adaptec
software.

Sundar.
I use Yamaha CD-RW 4416SXZ with cdrecord s/w (freeware)

==
Paul Talbot. The older HP 4020i works great with my Sparc...

==
Alan Orndorff. Smart and Friendly 2006 Plus works great

==
Matthew Stier.
At my site, I have a CD-R on an Windows95 system.

If I need to make CDROM's for a Sun workstation, I use "mkisofs" to
create
an CDROM image. Transfer that image to the Windows95 system and use
Adaptec's CD writer software to burn the CD.

Alan Reichert.
Yamaha CDR400tx (no longer made)
Yamaha CRW4260tx (have not tried the re-writeable capabilities on this
drive)
