SUMMARY: read a 8mm tape

The acturally solution is relate to format of the tape drive.
I can easily read the tape, 'tar xvf /dev/rmt/0', by a 8500XL tape drive.
I was tried and failed on both 8200 and 8500 tape drives.

Thanks for many repiles, and most of them suggested to use 'tcopy /dev/rmt/0'
to find out the block size and files on the tape or use 'dd' to extract files.
In this situation, neither worked with the wrong tape drive.

My question is followed.
==================================
Please help me to read a 8mm tape.
The tape is 8mm 112m tape and it's tar format.

When I use 'tar xvf /dev/rmt/1' on Solaris 2.5.1 with a Exabyte 8500 tape drive,
the error is:
tar: blocksize = 0
Of course, the blocksize couldn't be 0.
Any idea how can I read this tape?
