Summary : Late Collisions

Hi

Thanks all for the many responses, sorry for the late summary.

Everyone said that this was a problem of a mismatch between the port on
the switch and the NIC in the host - not being of the same duplex value
(full, half, auto whatever). The general consensus appeared to be not
to auto negotiate.

In addition there is a patch to the HME driver which was failing to
auto-negotiate as far as I can see.

Patch-ID# 104212-13
Keywords: security hme full-duplex MII AUI sys-suspend DDI_DETACH PHY
MAC snmpd
Synopsis: SunOS 5.5.1: /kernel/drv/hme patch
Date: Aug/11/98

There was one suggestion that it might be a topological problem in the
network.

Hope this helps, it helped us. We used the 'ndd' command to set the
port on the Sun correctly (matching the CISCO) and it worked.

Regards,

Stephen.
