As requested by a fellow on this list, here is Steve's reply
in it's entirety.
Just a small point, if you are securing systems over a slow network,
then the DLT 7000 may be un-suitable as it attempts to speed up writes
by writing zeros whenever its throughput drops below a certain
threshold, this is fine for fast streams but slow streams have an
problem of only being able to recover at write speeds which means
skipping over the zeros thus slowing down recovers.
