Well, I've had about 10 replies, only one from anyone who is
actually using Amanda. None from anyone who has said that they
had installed it using the package format from sun freewhere.
3 folks said, hey when you find out please tell me. (Which I
will if I do find out.)
5 folks basically telling me RTFM, with some giving me
amanda.org or the related mailing lists and news groups as a source.
But I guess I am dense, because none of the sources seem to give
me a tutorial on how to set up using the package from sun
freewhere, and so I am still looking to find some brave soul who
made it work.
I tried compiling source version, but every time I solve a "Oh,
you need this package too" error, it comes up with another....
If you have a working amanda.conf, that may help me.
Thanks again,
Arthur
Original message;
Has anyone actually used the Amanda program in the package
format from the sun freewhere site?
The documentation seem to be all related to compiling the
program. I would like to find out how to get a configuration
file and to use my tape changer.
Thanks for any pointers.
