This is a followup to my "Almost" SUMMARY posted yesterday. To summarize,
many had suggested using LSOF, FUSER, killing NFS and volume manager daemons
and trying the unmount, but nothing worked.
Then one kind soul noted that if the volume is shared then I may need
to unshare it before unmounting (thanks to Kelly McDonald!). This indeed
is the case, but I am a bit confused because we have been mounting-and-
sharing, and then unmounting, optical disks under Solaris 2.3 thru 2.6
for years, without ever having to unshare the disk first (and in fact
it remains "shared" in the /etc/dfs/sharetab file after being unmounted).
Surely it is cleaner to unshare it before unmounting it, but I'm wondering
why this wasn't enforced before?
Is this something new to Solaris 7?
Thanks for everyone's suggestions!
