The responses ranged from using netstat -a to identify the process and
killing it, to using Solaris' 4 minute timeout when an app crashes, to
commenting out the app in /etc/inetd.conf and kill -HUP-ing inetd.
Thanks again

ORIGINAL QUESTION
Managers,
I know I've seen this come up before but I didn't save the message and I
couldn't find the answer in the archive, so how does one free up a port
number that is in use? The OS is Solaris 2.6 with current patches
installed.
Thanks,
Sean
