The solution I used is encapsulated as follows:
1) Start->Settings->Control Panel->Network->Services if it does NOT
exist add the service "Microsoft TCP/IP Printing
2) instead of selecting network printer choose "local printer"
3) select "LPR port" then it will prompt you for the server name and
