Thanks for the prompt responses. As suggested, the culprit was patch
104468-06 not installed. After installing this patch it runs smooth.
Thanks again.
Here is the original problem :
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Sun-Managers,
I am using SparcStation 5, with Solaris 2.6 and reccommended
patches installed. I have installed Adminsuite 2.3 from the
CDROM as explained in the document in the CD itself.
I have configured the workstation as NIS+ root master server
using scripts as follows:
Given the root domainname as
# domainname xyz.abc
# domainname > /etc/defaultdomain
# nisserver -r -d xyz.abc.
And then
# nispopulate -F -p /nis+files -d xyz.abc. Where "/nis+files"
contain the copied files from "/etc".
Everything is smooth upto this point.
Now, the problem is when I run "solstice " and select a program like
"usrmgr" (or any other), it shows the NIS+ domain as "xyz.abc" , and
proceeding further it pops up error message " 'xyz.abc' is not a valid
NIS+ domain". Therefore I have no access to any tables in the NIS+.
I have gone through all FAQs and Documents I could get hold off.
Can somebody help me where I am missing something.
Many thanks in advance.
Devendra
