The solution is to figure out EXACTLY how the incoming IP address is
resolving, then use that name in the /etc/dfs/dfstab. (HELLO...
McFLY!!) Could swear I tried that. Of course the other part of the
answer is to check the end users PC to make sure all the components were
install (they weren't!)

ORIGINAL QUESTION
BEFORE SAMBA IS SUGGESTED - there are network restrictions on the use of
Samba, thanks anyway!
I've been beating my head against my screen for a couple of days now
trying to get the rpc.pcnfsd to act nicely. It is not allowing access
from anywhere.
Platform: E3000 running 2.5.1, rpc.pcnfsd v3.2 (just downloaded)
Client: Chameleon NFS client on NT4.0 w/s
I've got the entry in /etc/dfs/dfstab with my IP address (not name) in
the file. Put an entry in /etc/hosts to match the IP address to my PC
network name. /etc/pcnfsd.conf has the line
uidrange 101-62002
(needed this on HP systems).
Did a snoop and it's getting the correct UID/GID for my account. The
final lines from snoop are:
MOUNT:----- NFS MOUNT ------
MOUNT:
MOUNT: Proc = 1 (Add mount entry)
MOUNT: Status = 13 (Permission denied)
MOUNT:
If I share to everyone:
share -F nfs /filesystem
It works wonderfully. If I restrict it:
share -F nfs -o rw=1.2.3.4 /filesystem
It doesn't work, I've even tried -o rw=1.2.3.4,root=1.2.3.4 and it still
doesn't work.
Any ideas???
Thanks,
Bill
