There were a few responses that recommended nslint.
I downloaded it and it works fine. You can get it
at http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/tools.html
It found a few dangling CNAMES and some names with
dashes in them.
There were suggestions to use "h2n". I would have to change
our current setup too much to try this now. Maybe when I
get some free time.

Does anyone know of a perl/sh script that will do a
sanity check on a DNS map file before it is fed in named?
I'm thinking of something that will check for duplicate entries,
illegal names, etc.
I'm sure someone out there must have already done this.
