Hi,
The answer to the problem was simple. I should have had a closer look at the
xlock man page. The solution is
You can set this resource or use the corresponding command line option:
XLock.enablesaver: on
xlock -enablesaver
This is from the xlock man page:
-/+enablesaver
By default xlock will disable the normal X server's
screen saver since it is in effect a replacement for
it. Since it is possible to set delay parameters long
enough to cause phosphor burn on some displays, this
option will turn back on the default screensaver which
is very careful to keep most of the screen black.

Origonal question:
I am running Solaris 2.6 (no patches) and OpenWindows on a SparcStation 5.
I like to have screenblank operating overnight. This is the sreenblank that puts
the monitor in standby mode.
I use to run CDE and turn screen blank on and off using xset s BLANK/NOBLANK.
Screen blank would still work after locking the screen.
Recently I changed back to OpenWindows. xset s BLANK/NOBLANK still works, except
for when xlock is running.
Does anybody know how to get screenblank to operate when xlock is running?
I have searched the archives, but found nothing related to this problem.
