Actually, a summary is called for for two reasons:
1) Turns out that in the 5 years since I last did a firewall, not much has
changed in the MX records game. It looks like this:
ncgr.org preference = 20, mail exchanger = ncgr.ncgr.org
ncgr.org preference = 10, mail exchanger = internal_mail_host.ncgr.org
madison.ncgr.org internet address = w.x.y.z
ncgr.org internet address = 198.59.177.2
Turns out I had to do it the same way as I did the last time. Bummer.
2) To offer thanks for the many people who sent me mail to help debug the
problem. Thanks, from the bottom of my heart...
