Hi,

  Here is my orig. question.

**

In the Makefile of Solaris 2.6 (or 2.x) there is any para. in
/var/yp/Makefile which can specify the location of the maps.
What is your suggestion on where do an Admin. put the maps.

IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO keep all the maps by default in /etc, so that
the maps such as auto.x, groups and passwd etc ... are all stayed
in /etc ?

Over 90% of the mgrs said that it should be a gd idea if I put the
maps into
another dir. e.g /etc/yp.

  Reasons :

This is useful so that you can keep the root password out of the NIS
map and it
makes it easier to limit access to your NIS master.

I would like to Thanks for the following managers for their prompt
