EEPROM checksum invalid SUMMARY+question

I was getting the following message on an IPC I recently was given:

Bad EPROM checksum 00008c

So I went through the sun hositd/nvram gaq and tried recomputing the nvram
checksum to no effect. I then replaced both the nvramchip and the prom
chip (at least I believe it was the prom chip -- it was right next to the
nvram chip) with those from another IPC -- did a set-defaults, and a reboot,
and still get the error message. Anyone have any ideas?
