Hi Sun-managers,

Here's the summary. Thanks to:

John Horne <J.Horne@plymouth.ac.uk>

Kelly's solution solved my problem.

Not sure if you have your xman problem fixed. It took me a little while to find
the solution that I used when I had the same problem. My problem started when
we started to use CDE and Solaris 2.5.1. xman worked at the console but not on
any other workstation remotely logging in.
Here's what I had to do:
These kinds of problems are caused by the application not being able
to find the default application resources. Sun places these resources
in /usr/openwin/lib/app-defaults and most generic X applications look
for their stuff in /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults so one quick fix is to
create a symbolic link from /usr/lib/X11 to /usr/openwin/lib. You
can add the resources for the stuff you install in this directory as
well, but a more portable option is to create a global app-defaults directory
that included the resources for the public domain stuff that you
install and "setenv XUSERFILESEARCHPATH /usr/local/lib/X11/app-defaults"
in your global user environment setup.

Hope that this fixes your problem

Check that the Numlock key (I think - it may be the shiftlock/Capslock) isn't
on on the keyboard. Sounds odd but I found that when it was set then options
didn't work under the X server.
