SUMMARY: Recovery of primary root disk

This is to summarize my findings regarding recovering
from a primary boot disk failure while it is mirrored.

If your secondar (mirror) disk fails you can recover without
requiring a reboot. On the other hand, if your primary root
disk fails, the steps required to rebuild the root disk
and sync up mirrors again does require a reboot.

We are using SEVM 2.5 on Solaris 2.6...

I found this very disheartening as there are many other
systems/software that do not require a reboot. And when
a reboot costs you thousands of dollars is downtime, that
is simply unexceptable. I with Sun would get on the ball
and come up to speed with the rest of the world.

If I am grossly mistaken, please correct me.

Thanks
