Hi,
Thanks to Luc Lauwers and Kyle Pinkston,
I have to use the nameswitch in add_install_client for sysidcfg to do
automatic name services recognition. (BTW, this is a Solaris 2.6 5/98.)
The syntax is to add "-n :none" into add_install_client or append
" ns=:none" into /etc/bootparams.
As for difference in setting root password in sysidcfg and in jumpstart, no
answer was received. I was able to set the root password using either scheme,
and I've chosen the former, since sysidcfg is more or less static and can be
stored in a floppy (jumpstart config can also be in floppy, but I was too
impatient to wait for constant floppy disk "crunching".)
Thanks,
Kai
