Hi Managers,
Thanks for your response. The problem is resolved by reverting back to the
auto_home
file format.
Instead of
* server1:/data/users&
I need to put
abc1 server1:/data/users/abc1
abc2 server1:/data/users/abc2

mi6. For some reason intf is not found. I would say there is an entry
in /etc/passwd that gives /home/.tnatr/intf as the home directory and
either the file system is exported or the permissions are wrong or there
is mount in place at that point if the file does exist.
My method for debugging the problem:
1. Ensure all target directories exist.
2. Check /etc/passwd and /etc/auto_home for correctness.
3. Try mounting manually: mount -F nfs <target> /mnt_tmp.
Unmount if succesfull. If it fails then find out why.
4. Issue "automount" to reread maps and change to target
directory. If it fails repeat from step 1 as I have
overlooked something ovbious.
The above assumes nsswitch.conf and resolv.conf are correct.

If looks to me like someone is trying to access (cd, ls, something)
a directory called /home/.tnatr:intf, and that the automounter is
substituting a slash (/) for the colon, and trying to mount
/data/users/.tnatr/intf. It seems that .tnatr doesn't have a
subdirectory named intf.
I was able to duplicate this with 2.6 for x86.

Check the existence of /data/users/.tnatr/intf .

Would someone throw some clue on this.
Thanks in advance and will summarize.
