Sorry for wasting bandwidth, but my previous summary included bad information
in addition to being improperly formatted.
So...
Here's what I added to /kernel/drv/esp.conf to get my Quantum Fireball
SCSI drive to work without error:
device-type-scsi-options-list = "QUANTUM FIREBALL", "fireball-scsi-options" ;
fireball-scsi-options = 0x778;
