Users logging on via xdm from NetManage Xoftware Version 5.0
(Windows 95)
>From time to time several of our applications are crashing, leaving
the following message in .xsession-errors:
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)
Serial number of failed request: 176
Current serial number in output stream: 345
We have seen variations of this message from our own application
which was written in C using Motif calls as well as from Oracle Forms 4.5.7
applications.
Is this a problem with the Sparc 5 or the PC?

The message means that the X server, apparently Xoftware in your case,
doesn't have enough memory to perform the requested task. You need to
allocate more memory to Xoftware which may mean adding more memory to
the PC.
