Tim Evans said WABI did the jobs for him:
.mailcap: application/msword; /opt/SUNWwabi/bin/wabi -s 'winword %s
(Your Web server has to define 'application/msword' in its mime.types file.)
2.6 Does not come with wabi, installation I had from 2.5 would not fire up and I had no time to experiment.
Jim Robertori refereed me to Inso Corporation
WEB page http://www.inso.com/
There is no eval for UNIX on the WEB site, you have to call them.
The plug-in works OK.
A bit slow on SS20, looks like won't read Excel workbooks, and there is no printing implemented yet.
Otherwise it's pretty cool !
You can do "file, open" you can open it while browsing (see note from Tim), you can read files sent to you as attachments.
Tim Evans also mentioned that Solaris 2.7 comes with a standalone MS docs viewer.
Sun rep told me it is SoftWindows package.
