Original Post:

How does one determine what resolution (other than the manual) a monitor is
running at on a Solaris 2.X machine. I am specifically concerned with a
new Ultra 5 running Solaris 2.6. I thought I could determine this at the
OBP prompt, but I have not been able to find any reference in the
Answerbook or in the faqs.

Answer(s):

1. Use xwininfo

2. Use xdpyinfo

3. Use eeprom and grep for screen. I had actually tried this one but all
it did not report the screen resolution.

Having seen the responses I now remember using xwininfo in the past to
determine the screen resolution.
