Hi all,
Well, first of all most people wondered why i wanted to protect my
/etc/passwd file from being world-readable, well, i have some 7000 users
in my system and they are all receiving SPAM, i just wanted to prevent
them from doing this. Any user can have the whole list of users now :-(
SUMMARY: No protection is possible, since most of system apps *have* to
read /etc/passwd in order to get UID. GID, shell and other information.
Thanks to all who bothered giving advice,
Enrique Vadillo-
